Restoring Homes. Restoring Lives
“Those from among you shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.” Isaiah 58:12
Alabama Rural Ministry (ARM) is a nonprofit dedicated to ending substandard housing in our state by restoring homes with volunteers who serve in the name of Jesus. Our restoration mission is about more than rebuilding homes for our neighbors. We focus on the lives of the people within, what we're calling the Faces of Restoration.
ARM receives applications from homeowners who are living in conditions that are dangerous and/or unsustainable. These are our most vulnerable neighbors, like the elderly or single mothers. They have no means, financial or otherwise, to repair their homes. We believe safe, secure, comfortable housing leads to healthier lives. In our ministry at ARM, we're dedicated to restoration: Restoring homes, restoring lives, and restoring relationships with God.
Each October, ARM staff live in “The Shack” for a week to raise awareness and funds for our mission. We set up the small building on the lawn of the Auburn Wesley Foundation, and this community-wide event is vital to our annual budget. We seek individual, church, and corporate sponsorship for our efforts. We invite you to join us in our mission.

Want to help ARM give more people the chance to share in our mission? You can set up a Wheelbarrow of Change! Park a wheelbarrow or bucket at your church or business to collect gobs of change and share with your friends, family, and church the struggles families face living in substandard housing. Learn more and print a flyer to hang on your wheelbarrow at Wheelbarrow of Change.
Let’s extend the love of Jesus--and restore homes & lives.
